Hi, I'm Dan. Born and raised in Japan. Moved to the United States at age 15. I remember as a child sitting in front of the computer for hours collecting landscape photos. I often wondered what it's like to be the one creating those images. I’ve always enjoyed art in many mediums, but there’s something about photography that I just obsess over. Being behind the camera allows me to learn and have new experiences, and at times gets me out of my comfort zone.

Outside of photography I enjoy trail running, rock climbing, ceramics, and of course hiking and backpacking. I was a track athlete throughout most of my school years as a pole vaulter, but rock climbing has taken over much of my free time now. You can usually find me at a local Portland climbing gym.
